DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMICS
The Department of Economics at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, was established in 1995 and began its academic activities with an undergraduate program in the 2000–2001 academic year. Today, the Department offers education at three levels: undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.
The primary objective of the Department of Economics is to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to analyze economic problems at both national and international levels, to develop solution-oriented approaches, and to instill a discipline of scientific thinking. In line with this objective, the curriculum includes not only core economics courses but also complementary fields such as business administration, public finance, and law, with the aim of providing students with a multidisciplinary perspective.
Thanks to the theoretical and applied knowledge they acquire, graduates of the Department find employment opportunities across a wide spectrum, including public institutions (as experts, inspectors, auditors, and controllers) and the private sector (such as banking, finance, accounting, marketing, and foreign trade).
The Master’s Program of the Department aims to enable students to deepen their academic or professional careers by providing advanced training in economic theory and research methods. The Doctoral Program, on the other hand, seeks to educate qualified, research-oriented, and innovative scholars for universities and research institutions.
With its well-established history, strong academic staff, and accredited, quality-oriented educational approach, the Department of Economics at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University offers students the opportunity to develop into individuals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and vision required by the contemporary world.
